The World of Custom LEGO® Models

Welcome to the Bricked-it blog!

We are excited to launch a new space dedicated to everything we love about bricks, creativity, design and brands.

At Bricked-it, we believe that a logo, mascot, product or idea can become much more than a visual identity. With the right design, it can become something people can build, display, share and remember.

That is the idea behind our custom LEGO® models.

Through this blog, we will share our projects, our design process, behind-the-scenes stories and ideas for using custom brick-built models to create memorable experiences for customers, employees and communities.

What is a custom LEGO® model?

A custom LEGO® model is a brick-built creation designed specifically around a particular idea, brand, product or character.

It can be a company’s logo, a mascot, a recognizable product, a building, a character or almost anything that can be translated into bricks.

At Bricked-it, every project starts with the same question:

How can we turn this idea into a great brick-built model?

The answer depends on many factors, including the shape, colors, size, level of detail and intended use of the final creation.

A small model can be designed as a corporate gift or event giveaway. A larger and more detailed creation can become a centerpiece for an office, exhibition or brand event.

The possibilities are remarkably broad.

Why use LEGO® models for your brand?

Corporate merchandise often has a short lifespan. A branded pen, notebook or generic promotional item can easily be forgotten.

A custom brick-built model offers a different experience.

Create something people want to keep

A well-designed model is not simply another promotional object. It is something people can build, display and enjoy.

This makes custom brick-built creations particularly interesting for corporate gifts, employee rewards, events and brand loyalty campaigns.

Turn your brand identity into something tangible

A logo is normally something people see.

A custom model gives them something they can interact with.

Your visual identity can be translated into shapes, colors and structures that people can actually build with their own hands. This creates a different and more memorable way of experiencing a brand.

Make your events stand out

Trade shows, conferences and corporate events are crowded environments.

A creative brick-built model can give visitors a reason to stop, look and interact with your booth or display.

It can also become a memorable giveaway for clients, prospects or event attendees.

Give employees something different

Custom models can also be used internally.

They can make interesting employee gifts, onboarding experiences and rewards, especially when the model has a direct connection to the company, its products or its culture.

How we create a custom LEGO® model

Creating a custom model is much more than simply reproducing a picture with bricks.

At Bricked-it, we follow a structured design process to turn an idea into a buildable model.

1. Understanding the brand and the project

We start by learning about the brand, its identity and the purpose of the project.

We study the available references — such as logos, photographs, existing products or mascots — and look for the elements that will make the strongest brick-built interpretation.

The objective is not simply to make something recognizable.

It is to create a model that works as a model.

2. Building physical prototypes

The first designs are created with real bricks.

This is an important part of the process because working with physical elements immediately reveals what works and what does not.

We can experiment with proportions, colors, shapes and different construction techniques before moving to the next stage.

At Bricked-it, our models are designed manually. We do not use AI design tools to create our models.

3. Refining the design

Once the general concept is established, we refine the model brick by brick.

We determine the final scale, colors and elements required for production.

Depending on the project, this stage can also include decorated elements, stickers or other custom details.

4. Creating the building instructions

A custom model needs more than a great design. It also needs clear building instructions.

We create the instructions required to turn the individual elements into the finished model.

These instructions can also be customized to reflect the client’s brand, include additional information or become part of the overall experience.

Packaging and supporting visuals can also be designed when required.

5. Delivering the finished set

The final result is a complete custom brick-built experience, ready to be delivered to its audience.

Whether the project is intended as a corporate gift, an event giveaway, an employee reward or a brand loyalty initiative, the goal remains the same:

create something people will remember.

What will you find on the Bricked-it blog?

This blog will give us the opportunity to go behind the scenes and share more of what happens before a custom model reaches its final form.

Custom LEGO® model projects

We will showcase some of the projects we work on, from company logos and mascots to more unusual ideas.

You will be able to see how an initial concept evolves into a finished brick-built creation.

Behind the scenes

Designing with bricks involves a lot of experimentation.

We will share some of the techniques, challenges and decisions involved in creating custom models.

Sometimes, getting a small detail right requires considerably more work than you might expect!

Ideas for businesses and brands

We will also explore different ways companies can use custom brick-built models.

From corporate gifts and trade shows to employee rewards and brand loyalty, there are many ways to turn a custom model into a useful part of a communication or marketing strategy.

Building instructions and resources

When appropriate, we will also share building resources, examples and insights into the process of creating professional building instructions.

From an idea to a model

One of the things we enjoy most about this work is seeing the moment when an idea starts to take shape.

A logo on a screen is one thing.

Seeing that same logo transformed into hundreds of physical elements — and eventually holding the finished model in your hands — is something completely different.

That transformation is at the heart of what we do at Bricked-it.

With more than 15 years of experience creating custom LEGO® models, we have worked on projects across many different themes and subjects. Every new project brings its own challenges, and that is precisely what makes the work so exciting.

Let’s build something together

This is just the beginning of the Bricked-it blog.

In the articles ahead, we will explore custom LEGO® design, corporate gifts, brand identity, building techniques, project case studies and the stories behind some of our creations.

If you have a logo, mascot, product or idea that you would like to transform into a custom brick-built model, we would love to hear about it.

Let’s build your brand, brick by brick.
